Currently, more than 80% of BASv1 has been migrated to BASv2. And we have more than a week to do that migration. One of the biggest obstacles for users to migrate BAS is incredible huge gas fee on Ethereum. It was a nightmare to use DeFi dApps on Ethereum during this period. Basis Cash team can not do anything about Ethereum gas fee, except, we are working on expanding Basis Cash to another chain like Binance Smart Chain. The detail will be announced soon.
So, for many “small holders”, using CEX like Gate.io or MXC to migrate their BASv1 is a smart choice. And maybe, that are the last chance for BASv1 token holders to migrate their token for free. “Free” mean all things you need to do is depositing your BASv1 into these CEX before a certain time, so they will migrate your token for free. All fee you need to pay are deposit and withdraw fees.
MXC
For now, MXC is closing BASv1 deposit function, so we can not deposit our BASv1 into this exchange. If your BASv1 token are already at MXC, you do not need to do anything, MXC will migrate your BASv1 to BASv2 from 04:00 AM, February 18th to 08:00 AM, February 18th (UTC) for free.

Gate.io
Gate.io will migrate user’s BASv1 tokens on February 18th.
If your BAS tokens are already at Gate.io, you do not need to do anything in particular. If you want to have your BASv1 token migrated to BASv2 effortlessly, please deposit to Gate.io before February 18th. Please deposit you BASv1 to Gate.io as soon as possible.

Hotbit has finished contract upgrade on February 10th, 2021 UTC. So BAS tokens on Hotbit now are BASv2.
Please do not deposit your BASv1 into Hotbit now.

To conclude, if you want to migrate you BAS for free (or less fee — just deposit and withdraw fee), you should consider to deposit your BASv1 into Gate.io as soon as possible before February 18th.
